About

Hi, I’m Becky. I love to cook and spend time in the kitchen. My kids, all four of them, like to help me especially when they get to taste whatever it is that we’re making. My husband has some favorite recipes but often enjoys something new.

None of my family is very specific about what they’d like to eat for dinner, as long as it’s “something good.” It’s hard to remember which kitchen experiments they liked and which received a low approval rating (i.e. 3 out of 4 kids chose toast instead). Sometimes after a potluck someone will ask about a recipe, and I’ll be able to tell them what was in it but not how much of an ingredient or how long I cooked it.

My goal is to use this blog to help organize my recipes and chronicle my kitchen adventures. Ideally the kids will even be able to look through and find something good. For all my potluck friends, you’ll get an accurate copy of the recipe when you ask for it not 2 months later. To everyone else, if my whole family thinks a recipe is something good, hopefully someone in yours will agree.

I’m new to the world of blogging, but I’d like to post about twice a week. Yes, we eat much more frequently than that, but I’m not in the habit of documenting and photographing my food (sometimes it even disappears before I can find the camera). To make sure you don’t miss any new posts, you can subscribe by clicking on the button on the sidebar.

Please comment on the recipes and share how you changed them to fit your tastes. Often the recipes I make are a conglomeration of  three or four different starter recipes that I pull from to create something my family will like. If I use a recipe as is or if I’ve only made a small change, I’ll let you know where I found the recipe to give credit to the author and help you find the original. If you like one of my recipes enough to share it (and I hope you will) please be kind enough to link back to my original.

  1. So proud of you for getting this going Becky! It looks great! And now I can refer to this instead of calling you with all my cooking emergencies :) By the way, readers, this girl knows it all when it comes to the kitchen (although she's too humble to say so). I am blessed to call her my friend, and am so grateful to sample her experiments. I aspire to cook more like her, but my children are quick to point out that no one cooks as well as Becky!
